WEIGHT LOSS

Overweight refers to an excess of body weight compared to set standards.  Obesity refers specifically to having an abnormally high proportion of body fat.  A person can be overweight without being obese, as in the example of a bodybuilder or other athlete who has a lot of muscle.  However, many people who are overweight are also obese.  Nearly one-third of
U.S. adults are obese, and nearly two-thirds are overweight.  Overall, less than half of U.S. adults have a healthy weight. 1

Studies show that obese individuals have a 50 to 100 percent increased risk of death from all causes, compared with normal-weight individuals.  One study, which analyzed the medical records of over 3,400 middle-aged adults from 1948 to 1990, found the following statistics:

Females who were obese at the age of 40 lost
     7.1 years of life.

Males who were obese at the age of 40 lost
     5.8 years of life.

Obese people who smoked were even more at risk when compared to adults of the same age who were normal weight and did not smoke:

Females lost 13.7 years of life.

Males lost 13.3 years of life.

Obesity can lead to physical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), high blood cholesterol, and even cancer.  The effects of obesity on the individual’s quality of life are tremendous.  It can affect your self-esteem, confidence, personal and business relationships, and the way you are viewed by yourself and others in general.

Many people have tried multiple diets and exercise programs to lose weight without success.  Repeated failures create a negative spiral of belief that reaching weight loss goals is impossible. Hypnosis can help you to reach your weight loss goals and to maintain a healthy weight.

Your beliefs and values surrounding food, eating, and activity are significant factors when it comes to weight control. Have you ever thought any of the following?

           Food equals love.

Food is used as a reward.

If you care about someone, you feed them, and if you
are offered food, you must eat it or you are being
           disrespectful.

           More is better.

Leaving food on the plate is wasteful or a sign of
           weakness.

           A meal isn’t complete without a dessert.

           Exercise is boring.

I don’t have time to eat properly or be active.

The Mind-Body Dynamics Weight Management Program uses advanced techniques of guided imagery to
eliminate the subconscious programming that causes the condition of being overweight.  You will also learn techniques of self-hypnosis so that you can continue to reinforce continued success for the rest of your life.

SUGGESTION
If you have about 10-20 pounds to lose and need some help, you'll probably do well with the 3-session package. If you have a significant amount of weight to lose that you've gained recently or over a short period, consider the 6-session package. If you've had a lifelong struggle with weight and have a significant amount of weight to lose, the 12-session package might be right for you.  For more information see "Fees and Information".

If you are serious about losing weight and are ready to take charge of your life, hypnosis can be very successful for you.  If you're ready to take the first step, please contact me for a consultation and let me help you attain your goal.
